Formed amidst the gritty streets of Los Angeles Engines of Aggression emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the industrial rock scene. Fronted by the magnetic vocalist Tripp, whose haunting melodies and visceral lyrics echoed the city's pulse, and anchored by the thunderous bass lines of the Bulldog, their sound was a sonic assault that left listeners mesmerized.
Releasing two albums on Priority Records (home of Dr. Dre, NWA & Ice Cube), Engines of Aggression blazed a trail of sonic destruction across America, captivating audiences with their relentless energy and uncompromising attitude. But as the millennium drew to a close, the band went their separate ways after management disputes and inner-band personnel conflicts, leaving behind a legacy of electrifying performances and groundbreaking music.
Now, in 2025, Engines of Aggression has risen from the ashes with a vengeance. Rejuvenated and reinvigorated, the new EOA is back with a heavier, bolder sound that promises to shake the very foundations of the rock music world. With Tripp's captivating presence leading the charge, Engines of Aggression is poised to reclaim their rightful place at the forefront of industrial rock. Get ready to feel the fury once again with the release of “The Black E.P.” Four blistering EOA songs that were previously only heard by Japanese audiences now launched in the USA.
THE BLACK EP
Engines of Aggression's latest 4-song EP, produced by Steve Duda (NIN / Deadmau5 / Rob Zombie) is a thunderous return to form for the industrial rock veterans. Opening with "The New Shanghai," the band sets the tone with pulsating rhythms and atmospheric textures that transport listeners to a dystopian metropolis. Tripp's haunting vocals soar over Bulldog's driving bass lines, creating a sense of urgency that propels the track forward.
On "Let You Down," Engines of Aggression showcase their ability to balance melody with heaviness. The song builds gradually, layering intricate guitar work with Tripp's emotive delivery, culminating in a powerful chorus that lingers long after the song ends.
"Moto Psycho" is a relentless onslaught of aggression and energy, with frenetic drumming from Gene “Machine” White and blistering guitar riffs courtesy of Michael Thomas, driving the song forward at breakneck speed. Tripp's vocals cut through the chaos with razor-sharp precision, delivering a sense of controlled chaos that is both exhilarating and intoxicating.
Closing out the EP is "Go Fanatic," a chilling glimpse into the mind of a psychopath. The staccato rhythms and dissonant guitars create a sense of unease, while Tripp's vocals weave a tale of madness and obsession. It's a haunting conclusion to an EP that leaves listeners on the edge of their seats, craving more.
Overall, Engines of Aggression's latest offering is a tour de force of industrial rock mastery. With each track, the band proves that they are as potent and relevant as ever, delivering a collection of songs that is equal parts thrilling and chilling. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the genre, this EP is not to be missed.
